Most local drivers know this and take that route automatically, especially since some of the streets inside the barrio are extremely steep and difficult for cars.
Once you’re at the viewpoint itself, the situation changes completely. The mirador area is busy, full of locals, food stalls, and a very relaxed atmosphere. It feels safe and welcoming, as long as you stay in the viewpoint area and don’t wander down into the surrounding neighborhood.
